For Dadpe Pohe:
- 2 cups Thin poha (flattened rice)
- 1/2 cup Freshly grated coconut
- 1/4 cup Fresh coriander leaves finely chopped
- 1/4 cup Freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1/4 cup Onion finely chopped
- 1/4 cup Tomato finely chopped
- 1-2 Green chilies finely chopped (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Sugar
- Salt to taste
For Tempering:
- 2 tablespoons Oil preferably peanut or vegetable oil
- 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- A pinch of Asafoetida (Hing)
- 6-8 Curry leaves
Instructions
Step 1: Rinse and Soak Poha
- Take the thin poha in a large sieve or colander.
- Rinse it under running water for a few seconds until it becomes soft and pliable. Be gentle to avoid breaking the poha.
- Drain excess water and let it sit in the sieve to remove any remaining moisture. Set it aside.
Step 2: Prepare the Pohe Mixture
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the soaked and drained poha, freshly grated coconut, finely chopped coriander leaves, chopped onions, chopped tomatoes, and chopped green chilies.
- Add lemon juice, sugar, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix everything gently but thoroughly. Taste and adjust salt and lemon juice as needed.
Step 3: Prepare the Tempering
- Heat oil in a small pan or tadka pan over medium heat.
- Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
- Add cumin seeds, asafoetida, and curry leaves. Sautรฉ for a few seconds until fragrant.

- Pour the hot tempering over the prepared poha mixture.
